A three-run home run from Lee Hyung-jong gave the LG Twins a 5-3 win over the Lotte Giants on Wednesday. The win tied up a three-game series hosted by the Twins at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, South Korea.
The home run allowed the team to take a lead which was previously held by the Giants since the third inning.
The home run came against Giants reliever Koo Seung-min, who was given his second loss of the season due to it.
On the other side of things, Twins pitcher Choi Dong-hwan was given his third win of the season in the game. Closing pitcher Ko Woo-seok got his 14th save in 2020 for his ninth-inning performance.
Teams Tied After Early Runs
The teams scored a run each to be tied 1-1 after two innings. The Giants scored first, with a sacrifice fly from Lee Dae-ho allowing a runner to get home.
The Twins responded in the second inning, as Kim Hyun-soo hit a solo home run.
Giants Take Short Lead
The Giants took a one-run lead after both teams scored in the third inning. Hits from Lee, who earned an RBI in the first as well, and Jung Hoon, both drove home runs.
A hit from Lee, who also scored the game-winning runs later for the Twins, scored a run for the Twins in the inning, making the score a tighter 3-2 lead for the Giants.
Both starting pitchers in the game, the Giants’ Park Se-woong and Twins’ Jung Chan-heon, were taken out of play after six innings.
The third and final game in the three-game series between the teams will happen tomorrow, with a first-pitch scheduled for 2:00PM KST (1:00AM EDT).
