Giants Battle Back For Win Over Hosting Twins

Coming back in the latter half of their game, the Lotte Giants won a game over the LG Twins 5-3 on Friday. The game was the final of a two-game series hosted by the Twins at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, South Korea.

The Twins gained a short lead in the third and fourth inning, scoring one run in each inning. Runs by the Giants in a trio of innings in the second half of the game gave them the lead, earning the club their fifth win against the Twins this season (overall record between the teams is now 5-5).

Twins Score Over Sampson

The first run for the Twins came in the third inning, where Kim Hyun-soo drove home a runner with a hit. An inning later, the Twins got ahead by another run after a home run from Yang Suk-hwan.

The Giants retaliated in the sixth inning, as a hit from Lee Dae-ho earned a run, making the score 2-1.

The Twins brought the game back to a two-run lead in the fifth inning. After a hit from Hong Chang-gi took a runner home, the stint on the mound for Giants starter Adrian Sampson came to an end.

Giants Tie Up Game, Take Lead

The Giants tied up the game in the seventh inning off of two plays. The first was a hit from pinch hitter Kim Jae-yoo which took Dixon Machado home. Later in the inning, a ground ball from Jung Hoon allowed Kim to get home.

The runs took place with pitcher Jung Woo-young on the mound, although one of them was scored against starter Jung Chan-heon, who was pulled after facing two batters.

The team gained the lead in the eighth inning with a hit from Lee Byung-kyu that took two runners around to the home plate. The first of the two runs were scored against Jung, who pitched in the previous inning as well. Jung was given the loss for the game, making his 2020 record 3-3.

Giants Head Back Home For Three Games Against Dinos

The Giants will head back home for their final three games of the week, hosting a series on Saturday and Sunday against the NC Dinos. The series is set to include a doubleheader on Sunday.

The first pitch for Saturday’s games is scheduled for 5:00PM KST (4:00AM EDT).
