Giants Tie Up Series Against Wyverns, Maintaining Early Lead

The Lotte Giants took a blowout 10-4 victory on Saturday over the SK Wyverns. The game was a bounce-back at home for the Giants following a loss in the previous game at the Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan, South Korea.

While the game did not have any delays due to rain like their Friday matchup, light rain came down at points in the game.

Jeon Plays Big Part

While many Giants contributed to the score, a reoccurring name was Jeon Jun-woo, who achieved three RBIs.

The Giants had a run early that put them ahead. In the first inning, hits from Jeon and Lee Dae-ho both scored runs. A ground out from Dixon Machado took a third run home.

Jeon got another RBI in the third inning after batting in a run to make the game 4-0.

The Wyverns eventually answered back in the fourth with a solo home run from Jamie Romak.

After Son Ah-seop picked up and RBI, a ground ball from Jeon made the game 6-1.

Kim Gets Hook After Four

Wyverns starter Kim Joo-han was taken out of the game after four innings, allowing six runs and eight hits. The first 2020 win for Kim still eludes him, with his record now being 0-4 through six games.

Wyverns reliever Park Hee-soo took the mound in the fifth inning, facing nine batters and giving up three runs. Hits from Son and Jung Hoon drove home more runs, moving the score to an eight-run margin.

Seo Gets Win After Six

The Wyverns were able to pick up some runs late in the starting appearance for Seo Jun-won. A two-run home run from Chae Tae-in was hit in the sixth inning to make the score 9-3.

Seo was given the win for the game after playing six full innings. In his fifth win of the season, Seo allowed three runs and seven hits while also attaining four strikeouts.

The teams traded runs late in the game, first with Chae batting in a run for the Wyverns. A home run from Han Dong-hee made the game 10-4.

Tied With A Game To Go In The Series

Following their Saturday win, the Giants moved back up to seventh in the KBO. They sit only a game ahead of the eighth-place KT Wiz.

With their series now tied, the Giants and Wyverns have one more game to play on Sunday. First pitch for the matchup is scheduled for 5:00PM KST (4:00AM EDT).

Around The KBO

After a big fourth and fifth inning gave the NC Dinos a large lead, the first-place KBO team glided to a 9-2 win over the Kia Tigers.

Breaking a five-game losing streak, the Hanhwa Eagles defeated the Doosan Bears 6-2.

A late eighth and ninth inning push allowed the Kiwoom Heroes to pick up a 10-6 win over the KT Wiz.

A close game between the LG Twins and Samsung Lions needed 12 innings to find a winner. The 5-5 game had the Twins take the lead after a solo home run by Kim Hyun-soo in the top of the 12th. The Lions responded later in the inning with a hit from Koo Ja-wook which scored a run. The deciding run was a walk by reliever Song Eun-beom which forced a run home.
