Blowout Loss For Eagles Continues String of Wins For Giants

In a game that saw numerouns runs scored by top players on the Lotte Giants, the team picked up a 12-2 win over the Hanhwa Eagles on Wednesday. From the Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan, Korea, the Eagles moved to 16-straight losses this season.

Noh Remains Successful Over Eagles

Being given a win for the second time against the Eagles this season, Giants starter Noh Kyung-eun put on his longest appearance of the season. Pitching seven innings, Noh gave up five hits and two runs while earning five strikeouts.

Innings from Park Shi-young and Ko Hyo-jun closed the game for the Giants.

Giants Earn Big Lead Early

Despite the blowout loss, it was the Eagles tt were first to get on the board. After Jared Hoying got on base earlier in the inning, he was drive home off of a sacrifice fly from Jung Jin-ho.

Despite having two outs on the board in the second inning, the Giants were able to put down five runs. After a hit from Kim Jae-yoo scored Dixon Machado, a three-run home run from Son Ah-seop and a solo shot from Jeon Jun-woo gave the team a 5-1 lead.

After a hit from Machado was fumbled by the Eagles shortstop, a runner from third base was able to score, making the game 6-1 in the third.

Giving up a sixth run, Kim Min-woo was pulled from the game in the third inning. The game was his fourth-straight loss, moving his 2020 record to 0-4 through seven appearances. Of the seven, this was also his shortest of the year so far.

Lee Dae-ho got a piece of the scoring as well, driving home a run in the fourth against reliever Lee Hyun-ho.

The Eagles scored their second run in the fifth, with Lee Yong-kyu batting in a runner, making the game 7-2.

Answering back in the same inning, Son got another RBI, letting Machado score off of a single.

Piling On

Adding onto their already six-run lead by the seventh inning, the Giants scored four more before coasting to a win. Son and Jeon, two batters that had already picked up RBIs did it again, as well as An Chi-hong, who brought in two runs off a hit to center.

Giants Look For Sweep At Home

The Giants will look for a sweep tomorrow in the series as they aim to make it into the top half of the KBO standings. They’re currently half a game behind the fifth place Kia Tigers, who retained their spot after winning over the KT Wiz on Wednesday.

The final game of the series will be played on Thursday at 6:30PM KST (5:30AM EDT).

Around The KBO

While rain stopped the game from going into the sixth inning, early innings indicated the Kia Tigers were dominant, finishing with a 10-0 win over the KT Wiz. The Wiz will look to break their six-game losing streak tomorrow.

The Samsung Lions won a 4-1 game over the Kiwoom Heroes, which included a six-inning pitching performance from Baek Jung-hyun, who limited the Heroes to two hits.

Ending a long streak of wins the NC Dinos had, the Doosan Bears got a 9-1 on the road. The deciding game in the series will happen tomorrow.

Rain prevented a game between the SK Wyverns and LG Twins from starting.
