The second game between the Lotte Giants and SK Wyverns this week was rained out on Wednesday. The game, which was set to happen at the Incheon SK Happy Dream Stadium in Incheon, South Korea, was one of the four games that did not happen on Wednesday.

The game was set to follow a 8-7 win for the Wyverns on Tuesday. The teams are set to play their final game of the series on Thursday, although that game has the potential to rain out as well.

Romak Scores Walk-Off Win For Wyverns In 10th Inning Over Giants

After numerous swings in momentum, a home game for the SK Wyverns on Saturday tipped in their favour over the Lotte Giants, winning with a walk-off home run in the ninth inning. The win was the first of a three-game series hosted by the Wyverns at the Incheon SK Happy Dream Stadium in Incheon, South Korea.

Bringing home Choi Jeong and making the final score 8-7, Jamie Romak hit a two-run home run to take the lead from the Giants and win the game. Hitting his 13th of the season, Romak is tied for eighth in the KBO for most home runs.

The home run was a culmination of a back-and-forth game that saw both teams secure the lead at one point. The Giants took the lead early, with the Wyverns answering back in the fourth and fifth innings.

Giants Get Three Run Lead

The Giants scored runs early in the game that put them ahead. In the first inning, a hit from Lee Dae-ho put the team on the board. In the third inning, An Chi-hong drove home two more runs off of a hit.

Sampson Exits Early Due To Injury, Kicking Off Runs For Wyverns

Giants starter Adrian Sampson saw an abrupt exit from the game in the fourth inning due to injury. The pitcher experienced pain in his planted left leg while throwing a pitch to Han Dong-min.

With Noh Kyung-eun stepping in to replace Sampson, Han hit a two-run home run. An inning later, a sacrifice fly from Choi Jeong allowed another run against Noh.

Noh was replaced by Kim Yoo-young, with a hit from Chae Tae-in after that taking home two more runs. By the end of the fifth inning, the Wyverns were up 5-3.

Machado Helps Giants Come Back

The Giants mounted a comeback late in the game with Dixon Machado playing an integral part. Being involved in two scoring plays, Machado helped give the team the lead again while also getting his first home run in a long time.

First was a solo home run from Machado in the sixth inning. His fifth home run of the season, the game saw Machado break back into the statistic after last hitting a home run in mid-May. Wyverns starter Ricardo Pinto was taken out of the game after the sixth inning.

The seventh inning started with Kim Jung-bin on the mound for the Wyverns. After facing four batters, two of which were an out each, Kim was taken out of the inning. Park Min-ho took his place, and while finishing the inning, Park also gave up three runs.

After a hit from Jung Hoon scored a run, Machado got a hit into the shallow outfield to score to more runs, moving the game to a 7-5 lead favouring the Giants.

Wyverns Secure Win

In the end, a push in the late innings gave the Wyverns the win. Bringing the lead to within a run, a home run was hit by Lee Hyun-seok in the eighth inning against Koo Seung-min tied up the game.

The game-ending two-run home run hit in the ninth came against Kim Won-joong, giving the closer his first loss of the season through 24 appearances.

Wyverns Take Second-Straight Win Over Giants To Finish Week

The SK Wyverns picked up a 6-3 win over the Lotte Giants on Sunday, winning their series two-games-to-one on the road. The game finished the week of play for the Giants at the Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan, South Korea.

The game started close with both teams scoring two runs, although the Wyverrns had a second wind of momentum late, scoring three runs over relievers.

Both Teams Get Two, Wyverns Get Lead After

The Giants were first to strike, with a series of hits bringing in two runs in the first inning. A walk from the starting pitcher Park Jong-hoon forced the first run home, with ground ball in the next play allowing the second run to score.

Responding quickly, the Wyverns scored two runs in the second inning. A two-run home run from Choi Joon-woo tied up the game. In his second home run of the year, Choi moved his 2020 RBI count to seven.

The team took the lead in the third after a solo home run from Choi Jeong.

Starters Given Decision, Runs Scored In Their Absence

Giants starter Park was taken out of the game after playing six innings. He was given the loss for the game, making his 2020 record 2-6.

The Giants start their next week of play with a series over the Hanhwa Eagles. Going on the road for the series, the Giants will look to build on the 4-2 record they’ve attained against the team this season.

The win was the first for the Wyverns over the Giants this season, coming from the Giants home field, the Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan, South Korea.

The win saw the Wyverns earn five runs over Giants starter Adrian Sampson, building on their lead later with runs over relievers.

Teams Exchange Runs In The First

The Wiz sit tied for last place with the Wyverns, only earning one win so far.

The Lotte Giants won their home opener on Friday, going into extra innings against the SK Wyverns. A late start from the Giants, which has been a trend in their games lately, allowed the team to tie up a high scoring game and end it in the 10th inning.

A wild pitch was the deciding factor in the end, with An Chi-hong coming in from third to close the game out with a score of 9-8 in the 10th inning.

The win came without a crowd at the Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan, South Korea. Four games into the season, the Giants have won all of their games thus far.

A Quick Start For Wyverns

Wyverns first got on the board in the second inning with a series of hits bringing in runs. It started with a hit to the left-center gap from Jung Hyun who brought home Kim Chang-pyung.

Hyun was brought in by Jeong Jin-gi, and a hit from Ko Jong-wook scored Jeong in for the third run, putting the team up 3-0 in total.

A solo homerun by Giants second baseman An Chi-hong in the bottom of the third shortened the lead to two.

Further Extending The Lead

Three-straight innings saw the Wyverns extend their lead by one run each time. In the fourth, Jeong Jin-gi got his second RBI of the game, bringing in Kim Chang-pyung.

The fifth inning saw Wyverns right fielder Han Dong-min get his third homerun of the year, this time being a solo shot to make the score 5-1.

Veteran Giants starter Noh Kyung-eun was pulled after the fifth inning, giving up nine hits and five runs.

A sacrifice fly from Jeong Jin-gi in the sixth brought in another run for the Wyverns.

Giants Close Gap, Tie Game

The bats of the Giants picked back up in the sixth, with a solo homerun from Jeon Jun-woo kicking off a rally.

Later that inning, Lee Dae-ho hit a ball into right field, allowing Son Ah-seop to make the trek from first all the way to home.

A hit from Dixon Machado brought home the third run of the inning for the Giants. Wyverns starter Moon Seung-won, who was starting his seventh year for the team, was pulled before the fifth ended. He finished with seven strikeouts, giving up nine hits and four runs.

After the Giants brought in reliever Park Shi-young, the seventh inning started with Wyverns third baseman Choi Jeong hitting a solo homerun into center. Later that inning, Jamie Romak was brought home off of a sacrifice fly from Han, bringing the game to a score of 8-4 for the Wyverns.

The Giants had another three-run inning in the seventh, starting with a sacrifice fly from Son bringing in Min. Only a pitch later, Lee took a ball into the right field grandstands for a two-run homerun, limiting the Wyverns to only one run.

Finally catching back up to the Wyverns in the eighth inning, Giants shortstop Dixon Machado hit his second homerun of the season.

Extra Innings Prove Successful For Giants

After a scoreless ninth, the game went into extra innings. Capitalizing on a wild pitch, An Chi-hong came home from third base and ended the game.

Kim Joo-han, who pitched in the 10th inning was given his first loss of the year. In the 2019 season, Joo-han appeared in 11 games for the Wyverns, finishing with an 5.25 ERA.

Koo Seung-min, a Giants reliever who pitched the 10th inning was awarded the win for the game, pitching a strikeout and leaving the inning without allowing a hit.

The second game in the three-game home series kicks off tomorrow at 5:00PM KST (4:00AM EDT), however, an early forecast of Busan predicts rain affecting the game.
