The Lotte Giants and Doosan Bears had their 1-1 game abruptly finished in the sixth inning on Saturday after rain halted play. The game went under a rain delay for 40 minutes before it was cancelled at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, South Korea.
Due to the game only making it into the sixth inning, only the starting pitchers made appearances on the mound. Giants starter Noh Kyung-eun pitched five innings, giving up three hits and one run. Bears pitcher Raul Alcantara pitched six innings, allowing six hits and one run. Alcantara also earned six strikeouts in his appearance.
The Bears got their run in the third inning, as Park Se-hyuk scored a solo home run to get the lead. Park’s home run was his fourth of the season, matching the amount he earned in the 2019 season.
Answering back in the fifth, a sacrifice fly from Giants first-baseman Jung Hoon scored a run to tie the game up.
Giants Remain Tied With The Wiz
The Giants have had an explosive week, as the Busan squad hasn’t lost in the month of August yet. The team is rising up the rankings, currently tied with the KT Wiz, who have an identical 38-35-1 record.
The Bears will host the Giants one more time this week as the teams are set to play on Sunday at 5:00PM KST (4:00AM EDT). Like Saturday’s game, rain has the potential to intervene.
